I keep my attention on my own work, not on judging others.

There's a quiet relief in minding your own conduct. Marcus reminded himself, again and again, that other people's faults were not his to carry, and that watching them only stole hours from his own growth. This isn't coldness. You can still love people and help them. But the constant comparing, the running tally of who's wrong, the imagined arguments, all of it pulls you out of your own life. When you bring your attention home, to what you are doing and how you are doing it, you have far more energy. The only conduct you can truly improve today is your own.

Inspired by the old idea of character over reputation. Written by Ugo Charles.
