I am one small life among many, and that softens me.

When a problem fills your whole sky, Marcus had a trick: he'd picture the view from far above, the cities, the crowds, the endless lives all churning at once, his own troubles shrinking to a speck among them. It's not meant to make you feel small in a cruel way. It's meant to loosen the grip of the thing that feels so huge right now. From up there, the argument, the embarrassment, the missed chance, takes its true size, which is usually smaller than it felt. And seeing how many others carry their own heavy load can make you kinder, to them and to yourself. Your problem is real. It's just not the whole world.

Inspired by the old idea of the view from above. Written by Ugo Charles.
