September 9 · Reflection
Marcus wrote that everything is in flux, the seasons, the cities, the people, even our own bodies. At first that sounds bleak. But impermanence cuts both ways. Hard times pass too. The grief, the awkward season, the rough patch at work, none of it is permanent furniture. And the good things become more precious precisely because they won't last forever. This child's age, this view, this version of your life. Holding things lightly isn't coldness. It's a way of loving them honestly, knowing they're on loan. Today, if you're in something hard, remember it will shift. If you're in something sweet, let yourself notice it fully.
