September 8 · Reflection
Marcus reminded himself that other people's praise and blame live in their minds, not yours. We burn a lot of energy managing how we look, and it rarely makes us better. The Stoic move is to care more about being good than about seeming good. If you act with honesty and care, that's solid ground, whether or not anyone claps. And if someone misjudges you, that's their picture, not your reality. This is freeing. You stop performing and start living. Today, do one right thing that no one will notice or thank you for, and let that be its own quiet reward.
