I live this day well, as if it were a whole life in small.

Seneca wrote that the man who has lived well has lived long enough, no matter his years. He pushed against the idea that life is something waiting in the future, after the promotion, the move, the someday. The Stoics held death close not to be grim but to make today matter. If this day were a small life, would you spend it bracing and postponing, or would you actually live it? You don't need to overhaul everything. You just stop treating now as a rehearsal for a realer life later. Today, do one thing you keep putting off until conditions are perfect, and let this ordinary day count as a real one.

Inspired by the old idea of memento mori. Written by Ugo Charles.
