Worrying about the outcome doesn't prepare you; it just wears you out before the day even starts. So do the sensible things, save a little, send the message, set the alarm, and then let the future be the future. This isn't fatalism. It's putting your energy into the parts you can shape and refusing to bleed it into the parts you can't. Prepared and unattached is a calm, strong place to stand.
