Marcus wrote that the mind adapts and turns to its own purposes the things that block it, so that what stands in the way can become the way. The blocked plan forces a better one. The hard person teaches patience. The setback shows you what you actually want. This isn't pretending obstacles are gifts wrapped in disguise. It's a practical stance: since the obstacle is here anyway, what can I do with it? You're not stuck just because the direct path closed. Often the detour holds something the straight road never would have. Today, instead of only resenting what's in your way, ask what it might be asking of you.
