I focus on doing my part well, not on the result.

The archer, the Stoics said, controls the aim, the draw, the release, but not the wind. Once the arrow leaves, it's out of his hands. You can pour your full care into the work, the meeting, the application, the conversation, and still not control how it lands. So put your effort where it belongs: into doing your part well. Then let the outcome be the outcome. This isn't giving up. It's the opposite, a clean, whole-hearted effort freed from the anxious grip on results you can't command. When you do your part and release the rest, you can act with focus instead of fear.

Inspired by the old idea of dichotomy of control. Written by Ugo Charles.
