I notice one good thing already here in my life.

Marcus advised against daydreaming about things you don't have, and instead counting the blessings already present, then imagining how much you'd long for them if they were gone. It's a quiet trick of attention. The body that carries you, the people who'd notice your absence, the ordinary roof and warmth and quiet, these only feel ordinary because they're always here. Gratitude isn't pretending nothing's wrong. It's widening the frame so the good gets seen too, not just the gaps. You don't have to feel grateful for everything. Just find one real thing today, look at it directly, and let it land before it blurs back into the background.

Inspired by the old idea of count present blessings. Written by Ugo Charles.
