Seneca recommended ending the day by reviewing it gently, asking what you did well and where you might do better, more like a fair teacher than a harsh judge. The same fits the close of a month. Look back over July without the highlight reel or the list of failures. Just honestly: where did you act with care, where did you slip, what did you learn. Then let it rest. You can't redo the days that passed, but you can carry their lessons forward kindly. Closing a stretch of time with honest gratitude, rather than regret, is how you stay on your own side. Tomorrow, you begin again.
