I have today, and I choose to live it rather than waste it.

Seneca was blunt about time: we act as if we'll live forever, then squander our days on things that don't matter. He didn't say this to frighten you. He said it to wake you. You won't have an endless string of mornings, so the one in front of you is worth more than it feels. That doesn't mean cramming it full or chasing some perfect, productive day. It means being here for it, the coffee, the person across from you, the small choice to do one thing that matters. A life is built out of single days. This is one of them.

Inspired by the old idea of memento mori. Written by Ugo Charles.
