It sounds grim to think about death, but Seneca found it did the opposite, it woke him up. The point of remembering that life is short isn't to scare you. It's to stop you sleepwalking through hours you'll never get back. When you really feel that your time is limited, small grudges loosen their grip, and the people in front of you become more precious. You waste less. You put off less. You're gentler, because everyone you meet is also running out of time. This isn't about fear. It's about not saving your real living for a someday that may not come. Today is some of the life you were given. Spend it like it counts.
