August 2 · Reflection
We spend so much of life somewhere else. Rehearsing yesterday, dreading tomorrow, scrolling toward a moment that never quite arrives. Marcus reminded himself that all anyone really has is this present slice of time. The past is already spent and the future hasn't been handed to you yet. You can only lose what you hold, and the present is small and light. Being here doesn't mean forcing joy. It means letting this ordinary hour be what it is, paying it a little attention. The coffee, the light, the person speaking to you. This day is the only one you get to live right now.
