The Stoics treated the body as something on loan, to be cared for but not worshipped. Epictetus, who lived with a lame leg, knew you don't control everything about your health. Genes, accidents, illness, much of it lies outside your hand. But the daily tending is yours: the walk, the water, the sleep, the gentleness instead of punishment. The peace comes from doing your honest part and releasing the rest. You're not failing because you can't guarantee an outcome. You're succeeding each time you show up for the small, caring acts. Today, do one kind thing for your body, not to fix or earn anything, just to tend the home you live in.
