Seneca wrote that it isn't the person with little who is poor, but the person who always wants more. Wanting isn't a flaw; it's human. But there's a quieter kind of wealth in pausing to notice what's already here: a warm drink, a roof, someone who texts you back. Gratitude in the Stoic sense isn't forced cheer. It's an honest accounting that includes the good, which fear tends to skip right over. You're allowed to still want things to improve. You can also let today's enough be enough, just for today. Look around once and name one thing you'd miss if it were gone. That noticing is its own small steadiness.
