Seneca pointed out that a person who isn't content with a little won't be content with a lot, because the wanting itself never fills. Wealth, he said, is having what is enough. This isn't a vow of poverty. It's noticing that the goalpost keeps moving, and choosing to plant your feet for a moment. You can still work, still hope, still want better. But under all that striving, there's a quieter truth: today, you have what you need to get through today. Letting that be enough, just for now, loosens the low hum of never-quite-enough that money worries feed on. Contentment isn't a number. It's a place you stand.
