Seneca did not tell people to throw away their comforts. He told them to enjoy good things while holding them loosely, so that if they vanished, you would not be undone. The trick, he said, is to use fortune's gifts gladly but not lean your whole weight on them. After days of abundance or excess, this is a steadying thought. By all means enjoy what is here, the food, the warmth, the company. Just do not let your peace come to depend on them being endless, because nothing is. Enjoyment and non-attachment can live together. You taste the good fully, and you keep your footing for when it changes. That is not a grim way to live. It is a free one.
