April 10 · Reflection
Marcus Aurelius reminded himself that everything flows, the seasons, the body, even the empire he ran. Nothing stays. At first that can feel like loss, but there's comfort in it too. The hard day you're having will change. The mood will pass. So will the good moments, which is exactly why they're worth being present for. When you remember that all of it is passing, you grip the bad less desperately and savor the good more fully. You stop expecting things to stand still and start meeting them as they move. This is the river you're already in. You can fight the current or you can learn to swim with it.
